Jonahscustoms Posted September 19, 2013 Report Posted September 19, 2013 So I know kicker and fosgate have birth sheets but how do they get those numbers? Do they have their own ad-1 type device? Or do they clamp? Just wondering how they got their numbers
cloud77 Posted September 19, 2013 Report Posted September 19, 2013 They do more of a controlled test than an AD-1 or clamping..I hope. They test more specifically at the rated voltage. 2004 Grand Prix GT (2) 12" RE XXXs (04/05 XBL^2) 5 cu. ft tuned @ 35 Hz MMATS HD4000.05 MMATS SQ4100 Infinity Kappa components Juice Box black cherry Duralast platinum group 34 1/0 KNU OFC, 2/0 welding Singer 250A
Jonahscustoms Posted September 19, 2013 Author Report Posted September 19, 2013 How do they harvest the power? Like even if its at 14 volts. Because its not like they test one amp and stick the same number on each amp
cloud77 Posted September 19, 2013 Report Posted September 19, 2013 Which ever way they do it they just do it. I don't buy amps with birth sheets so my curiosity ends here. 2004 Grand Prix GT (2) 12" RE XXXs (04/05 XBL^2) 5 cu. ft tuned @ 35 Hz MMATS HD4000.05 MMATS SQ4100 Infinity Kappa components Juice Box black cherry Duralast platinum group 34 1/0 KNU OFC, 2/0 welding Singer 250A
Krakin Posted September 19, 2013 Report Posted September 19, 2013 I don't buy amps with birth sheets so my curiosity ends here. So you won't buy a Rockford amp because it has a birth-sheet? Krakin's Home Dipole Project http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/186153-krakins-dipole-project-new-reciever-in-rockford-science/#entry2772370 Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist? I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . . What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself but what has drawn your attention in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears, thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener.
cloud77 Posted September 19, 2013 Report Posted September 19, 2013 I didn't say I won't. I just said I don't. I stick with a brand name that doesn't need to add in a birth sheet to ensure my satisfaction. I have owned 2 Rockford 801s in the past but bought them both used..My ear was the birthsheet. 2004 Grand Prix GT (2) 12" RE XXXs (04/05 XBL^2) 5 cu. ft tuned @ 35 Hz MMATS HD4000.05 MMATS SQ4100 Infinity Kappa components Juice Box black cherry Duralast platinum group 34 1/0 KNU OFC, 2/0 welding Singer 250A

Jonahscustoms Posted September 19, 2013 Author Report Posted September 19, 2013 I completely agree with you that I wouldn't buy an amp solely based on if it has a birthsheet or not. I was just simply wondering the process of getting these numbers. I bet tony d knows
cloud77 Posted September 19, 2013 Report Posted September 19, 2013 They do more of a controlled test than an AD-1 or clamping..I hope. They test more specifically at the rated voltage. You think the manufacture is more controlled that the AD1? Of course. the AD-1 relies on a bank of batteries that starts at a higher voltage, and ends in the lower end. I'm sure the manufacturer rates their amp at a constant. Get my drift? 2004 Grand Prix GT (2) 12" RE XXXs (04/05 XBL^2) 5 cu. ft tuned @ 35 Hz MMATS HD4000.05 MMATS SQ4100 Infinity Kappa components Juice Box black cherry Duralast platinum group 34 1/0 KNU OFC, 2/0 welding Singer 250A
