advise needed for spl system... what would you do?

I am putting a wall in my 97 ford ranger extended cab. I have 18 cubes to play with. I am planing on either 6 15 s on a flat wall with 3 cubes per sub while running two amps on them. I see everyone using the 4th orders though, so my question is would it be better to use 3 15s in a 4th order bandpass to try to get the most bass/ spl out of it? so i guess here are my questions.....

6 on a flat wall or 3 in a 4th order?

should the 6 be facing forward or would it be better to have the subs facing each other with three subs facing up and three facing down dividing three subs with a divider in the middle...

any advice would be greatly appreciated.... thanks

Id do 6 in a flat wall if you can fit it with the 4th orders unless you have someone design it that really knows what they are doing they can be hard to dial in

My setup,

3 Re audio 10's ported tuned to 36 hz

Kenwood x-696

SHCA 0 gauge

I would do 6 15's flat wall. There's a guy on here with a ranger with 2 15's in a 4th order doing big things . I'd do what you like if it was me. Both will give you good numbers done right. Love to see your build log when you do this. I have a ranger myself. What you running for gear ?? Sounds like you are about to get loud one way are the other.Do Work. Tuned end for more. Oh wellcome to the forum ...

the amps im using are the old black earthquake 200 dhc amps, i think they are around 2500 or 3000 at 1 ohm. Not really sure about subs.. I have 10 15in. Petras hyperthrows that i had from a previous build that will probably go in until i can decide on what subs to get. it is 18 cubes internal, not including wood. all has been calcuated...

I'm not sure what your level of expertise is, but since you are asking this question i will err on the side of cautions and ask a few questions.

when you say 18 net cubes, how thick are you planning on making the walls of the box?

What where your measurements Height, width, depth

Did you take into account space for batteries, amps and such?

thanks for your input, but all of this as been taken into consideration... box is made of 3/4 in birch or sanded ply wood Haven't decided. I also always resin my boxes and this wall is going to be painted. I have been doing this since i was 16 and I'm 34. But my problem is that i have always used sealed boxes in my designs and never tied the 4th or 6th orders. while i completly understand the process and the goal, Im not familiar in how they compair spl wise to the regular sealed boxes....i worked at a shop here for along time and then got out of the business, so I'm about a decade behind in box design.... that's why i pose the question.

Me just guessing, a shelf or L-port will take up around 3 cubes. Lets say with 4 subs and bracing, that leave 3.5 cubes per sub. So in a flat wall, 4 should fit perfectly. If they are older subs, that will likely want more air per sub than today's modern subs.

Question: Are these subs similar to CV Strokers with the spider on the outside and tons of throw(Xmax)?

Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
