newschoolsoundz Posted September 26, 2013 Report Posted September 26, 2013 i already did my trunk lid with about 80 percent coverage an the a pillars all the way back to c pillars now im on the roof. my question is what would be best just put deadner in the cut out areas or to use some great stuff or some kind of non water based expanding foam to fill those areas then cover in deadner

shogen Posted September 26, 2013 Report Posted September 26, 2013 this... also a tip ... if you can remove your trunk lid, then do so... great stuff expands like cray... and it will leak all out of the holes... so removing it and laying it down to apply great stuff would make gravity work for you... also I vote against the big gap filler... it doesn't have the same density from what I've seen... its better to just go for the red can of great stuff Put deadener on first. Let harden. shogen Posted September 26, 2013 Report Posted September 26, 2013 i didn't do this with mine BUT I'll suggest it... its kind of a waste of deadener maybe... but put tiles on the big open sections of the trunk lid backside... the use strips of tiles to seal the edges where you're going to spray great stuff... then it would block/minimize leakage... also make sure your trunk is empty if you plan to do it still attached..
