jmfrb1 Posted October 16, 2013 Report Posted October 16, 2013 I was wondering what the best way of "gluing" a PVC port to MDF? Fiberglass, Sikaflex, etc just about done with the box put am wondering the best way to do this part
jarrius Posted October 16, 2013 Report Posted October 16, 2013 If it's flared just use screws and put silicone around the edges so you get no air leak. 2012 Chevy sonic1xSQ HDC3 12 D2RF R1200d 140 square foot of Q-Mat(soon to be installed) 140.2Db sealed on the dash with TL 142 DB sealed on the dash with another meter (was dead on with the TL at a show i was at) 141 on music. strangeduck,on 02 Jan 2014 - 01:39 AM, said: when my car spins out i just put the car in neutral, turn in the direction i want to go and pucker my asshole
95neon_thumper82 Posted October 16, 2013 Report Posted October 16, 2013 personally I like bondo... but fiberglass could be a better idea. <img src=http://i1332.photobucket.com/albums/w610/beastly666bassboy/IMG_9611192581855_zps9b9b76be.jpg border=0 alt= height="75" width="800"> Growing old is necessary... growing up is an option! jmfrb1 Posted October 16, 2013 Author Report Posted October 16, 2013 I'll definitely make sure there's no are leak. However the part that needs to be attached to the box is not flared. Its straight PVC. I didn't snap about this part until after I painted and finished about 95% of the build.

DTS909 Posted October 17, 2013 Report Posted October 17, 2013 Clear silicone. Make the hole a little more bigger then the pipe so you can get a thin layer of silicone all the way around the hole and let it dry. Just so the pipe will fit in nice and snug, don't want to damage that layer of silicone to much. Its going to stop the pipe from hitting the mdf. Once the thin layer is dry and the pipe is in just put some silicone on the front and back and spread it nice and even with finger. And it comes off easy and can be painted. jmfrb1 Posted October 18, 2013 Author Report Posted October 18, 2013 I ended up using the sikaflex its working damn well so far.
CleanSierra Posted October 18, 2013 Report Posted October 18, 2013 I used Liquid nails on the inside of the box and Bondo to hide my inner lip and smooth out. I also used a 3/4" round over bit to flare it on the outside. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
