soundsystemaniac Posted March 27, 2014 Author Report Share Posted March 27, 2014 Well, since we have broken 2 tinsel leads due to running almost 3x rated to each sub for months on end below 30hz, we looked at our options...stick with the sas, but recone them with extra leads, or upgrade. we couldnt find a good price on the recones with the extra leads, so we looked into the option of upgrading. We had talked about how it would be with 2 zv4 12s in the box. We found that Dave Leib had a custom built set of zv4 12s with tc baskets to allow for a 10 inch spider instead of 9, direct leads, triple leads, and an 8"CF dustcaps. These subs looked so tits and the price was right, so last night, we took my saturn over there tk ft myers and picked them up! Its amazing to see these things in person. Here they are next to an SA 8 for reference lol So, even though we are going from 3 to 2 subs, we still expect it to be louder. In the future, he wants to get a few more batteries, and another AQ 3500 so there will be 7k + in a center console box that hopefully would knock on the door of a 150db below 30hz. One sub will be in the front of the box still downfiring, and the other sub will be right under the port downfiring. We want to do a plexiglass "window" brace in the center to brace the box and top window. Stay tuned as we try to make this center console even more beast than it already is! Funny how the people who have a louder system than you will usually give you a compliment about your setup because they know how much blood, sweat, time, and money you put into it. The people who criticize or try and one up you....have a p.o.s to no system at all and will tell you all about this "other" guys system! Saddley I'm sure if I meet this "other" guy...he will probably tell me he thinks your just as annoying as I think you are! I'm not compensating, just proud of fabricating!
