JesseyMclame
Okay, so I'm trying to build this box for daily, tuned to 32hz, using 3" aeroports because I've got about 94" of it laying around, and I can't seem to get the tuning and the port area right. Box dimensions are, 26" high, 30" wide and 15" deep. It's for 2 IAD reign 12's, gonna be runnin them with a dc2k. So anyways, if anyone could make that box work, tuned to 32, with using no more than 94 inches worth of 3" pvc, that'd be amazing. Thank you ! Current setup in my 96 Hoe Hu - Pioneer DEH-80prs. mothra
4 cubic ft box w/ 4 3" ports around 17" if nothing changes, nothing changes You don't know what you don't know, till you don't know
JesseyMclame
That looks good, but it's a little on the smaller side to what the subs recommend. I think I'd really like to keep it around 5 cubes if I could Current setup in my 96 Hoe Hu - Pioneer DEH-80prs. JesseyMclame
okay so at about 4 cubes net, I've got 5 3" aero ports that are 17 inches long, brings me to 8.5 port area per foot. now everything looks good, but will having 5 ports have any negative effects on the box ? Krakin
More area will raise the tuning, but help with noise. Krakin's Home Dipole Project http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/186153-krakins-dipole-project-new-reciever-in-rockford-science/#entry2772370 Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist? I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . . What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself but what has drawn your attention in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears, thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener.
