enclosure for 1 rockford t2d215

Got a t2d215..built the enclosure to manufacturer recommendations..long story short no good..it bumps but I know it could do more. Getting 1600 rms more or less..the amp is a memphis mc1.1500..rated 1500 but it does more at 14.4v and I have no problem maintainimg that voltage with my electrical. I need a box design recommendation to perform better..only have enough clearance for an 18" box hieght and maybe a 30" width ..but I have about 27-30in depth clearance..the speaker's displacement is .176 and the fs(htz) is 31..

well yeah i got the manual and it has all that info..what im looking for is a recommendation because sometimes the manufacturer recommends somethin just to ensure u dnt make the sub work too hard..but I want it to push as much as it can..

RF has more than one ported recommendation. they have "high output" and "optimum".

jw, what are your electrical upgrades that allow you to hold 14v with that amp? where are you measuring this voltage from?

the woofer isn't seeing 1600. its damn near impossible for the amp to see 1 ohm while playing music.

edit: do your box specs match the high output, or the optimum one, exactly?

220 a alternator..deep cycle 960 ca battery..0 gauge wire ..6 farad cap..power distribution block with digital voltage display.. at idle its at 14.4 at peak engine rpms its at 14.8..not saying it doesnt dip..it does but never lower than 13v...but that memphis is no joke does do rated ..i guess thats why they charrge so much for their amps brand new..i got mine on a hookup tho. personally knew an authorized dealer who closed up shop and basically was giving stuff away at the prices i got. yes the enclosure was built to the high output rockford box spec in the manual and tuned to 35 htz..the box is almost 5ft^ gross..net maybe 4.5..would 6ft^ gross with a square tuned port do better than the slot tuned port?

Gross volume is irrelevant. So start talking in terms of net airspace. What size port are you running currently?

5 cubes is a lot of air for that sub, if you plan on going up to 6 gross.You need to be willing to give the sub enough air AND port area to get it to perform well. A slot port will work just fine, if it's the right size. What exactly do you have now, so we can determine where to go from here.

The pic of the box in your sig, has a way to skinny port. It looks like it's only an inch wide at most, is it?

yup thats 3 inches..looks smaller because of the angle and dark colors..painted the port black
