SICKSPD Posted January 22, 2014 Author Report Posted January 22, 2014 I decided to spend some time on something other than audio on the car… Had all sorts of continuous problems with my old 35w HID kit (the relay harness would keep crapping out) so I said screw it and ordered a 55w kit and I'm wiring it up now. Ill post pics later 09 Challenger R/T (Audio system under construction): Pioneer AVH-X4500BT (PAC RP4CH11 harness) (2) Sundown Audio SA-8v2 (inverted) CT Sounds AT1400.1D XS Power D3400 40 sq ft. hdorre Posted January 22, 2014 Report Posted January 22, 2014 In essence, HPF and SSF do the same thing. bassaholicsfl Posted January 22, 2014 Report Posted January 22, 2014 Your subsonic should be the lowest yoy want your box to play I set mine to 20 hz the phase should be at 180 due to the subs being inverted unless you changed the wiring to reverse. You'll get it sounding right man nice challenger looks really good. lpf I'd set it at 80 hz or close to it. It sounds like those 8s are being over powered and are in a way huge box. 2001 Dodge Ram Quad Cab.
SCOTT KOCH Posted January 23, 2014 Report Posted January 23, 2014 LOOKING VERY NICE!!!!! MORE PICTURES PLEASE!!!!!
SICKSPD Posted January 23, 2014 Author Report Posted January 23, 2014 Took a little video of a cold start of the challenger and some pics also 55 watt HIDs (8000k) installed. They burn a little whiter than 35 watt ballasts so its more like a 6000k bulb. 09 Challenger R/T (Audio system under construction): Pioneer AVH-X4500BT (PAC RP4CH11 harness) (2) Sundown Audio SA-8v2 (inverted) CT Sounds AT1400.1D XS Power D3400 40 sq ft. graham0599 Posted January 23, 2014 Report Posted January 23, 2014 I'd double check your wiring. Might have one coil out of phase or something. LPF is the highest freq. you want to play. SSF is the lowest you want to play My 350z build- http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/174424-2008-350z-build/page-2?hl=%2B350z+%2Bbuild#entry2605678

SSF is the lowest you want to play yeah I'm gonna rewire it to see if I did something wrong. Wont hurt trying. Ive noticed on a couple songs it clips at very low power and some songs the subs bottom out on. I guess you just gotta know what songs to play loud and ones not to? 09 Challenger R/T (Audio system under construction): Pioneer AVH-X4500BT (PAC RP4CH11 harness) (2) Sundown Audio SA-8v2 (inverted) CT Sounds AT1400.1D XS Power D3400 40 sq ft. Bodied B2600ZX Posted January 23, 2014 Report Posted January 23, 2014 The dd1 will set the gain so it's not clipping but will that make the 1400.1 maybe overpower the sa8's? Cuz the amp actually puts out 1800w right? Even if you were at around 1400w, you'd be overpowering. I know they can handle that much power but Idk about doing that daily. Idk for sure, I'm just asking cuz you are using the exact equipment I'm installing so I'm learning too, lol. 2 - Sundown SA 8V2 | CT Sounds 1400.1 | Pioneer DEH-X8500BS | 4/0 Big 3

Im more worried about my cars electrical system at the moment. My voltage is dipping a lot. Earlier my car was throwing up warning signs of the ESP being turned off and traction control malfunctioning. Sooo yeah I'm beginning to get worried as to what this is doing to my poor car. 09 Challenger R/T (Audio system under construction): Pioneer AVH-X4500BT (PAC RP4CH11 harness) (2) Sundown Audio SA-8v2 (inverted) CT Sounds AT1400.1D XS Power D3400 40 sq ft. XmaximuS Posted January 23, 2014 Report Posted January 23, 2014 And maybe a dumb question, you have the subs wired parallel? And/or reverse your Subs polarity since they are inverted.? Just asking. I didn't read all the posts in this thread. I would suggest finding a box designer. That whip with those subs are a good combo.... X MY BUILD LOG>>>> NAH I BETTER NOT..
