Also with mine it made a huge difference setting the lpf and subsonic filter . I own a dd-1 and cc-1 and that was one of the best investments I have made. Bodied B2600ZX Posted January 24, 2014 Report Posted January 24, 2014 Flipping the sub over means you are supposed to flip polarity. Our you can use the phase angle on the amp to do the same thing. You need to have it set on 180 IF you have the positive on your amp wired to the positive on the voice coils, and the negative on the amp hooked to the negative on the voice coils. Or set the phase angle on 0 and just switch the wires at the amp. You don't have to if you don't want to, but the sub needs to go in and out in the opposite direction than if mounted normally, so you switch the polarity to achieve this. Bodied B2600ZX Posted January 24, 2014 Report Posted January 24, 2014 Instead of pushing out, then pulling in, etc etc etc, after flipping the polarity, it would pull in, then push out etc etc etc. It makes the cone move opposite of if it were wired normally. It's hard to explain. Wired normally the sub pushes out of the box, then pulls in, pushes out, etc etc. To have the cone on an inverted sub physically move in the same direction as a normally mounted/wired sub, you flip the polarity. So the sub is upside down, and the polarity reversed, the cone moves "in", toward the magnet, but in orientation to the box, the cone is actually pushing out of the box, then the sub pushes "out" but the sub is pushing into the box. oldsoundguy Posted January 24, 2014 Report Posted January 24, 2014 I have run one sub inverted and ran it both reversed and normal and heard really no difference. Not louder inverted, not louder inverted with reversed its pretty much all the same. Only thing I noticed is that with the sun inverted it makes the box bigger and changes tuning slightly. Just my experience with one sub. It does look pretty cool if you have a big ass motor sticking out of your box. I actually flipped mine from inverted to normal mounting yesterday.
