groundpounder2k2 Posted May 15, 2008 Author Report Share Posted May 15, 2008 well i got boned...... the turbo let go and force fed metal shavings into my motor...... it turns out t25s dont like compressor surge.... so i'm building my spare LS block.... i hope to have it done in a month...... i was pretty pissed .... tuesday morning i fired it up and it puffed a cloud of smoke out of the breather and started pissing oil out of the exhaust..... i did a leak down test and FAIL....... i have #3 and #4 cylinders with 80% and 40% ....... the turbo was nice and tight when i put it in and now theres a crack in the housing and the bearings are toast..... the only thing we can come up with is monday night we did a first gear pull and the boost spiked to 17lbs..... becase the wastegate vac line tore ....... so 17lbs of compressor surge and a T25 dont get along...... thats what i get for not having a BOV i guess.... so now the plan is a 9:1 ls vtec setup....... and maybe a super 16g....we'll see how it goes well thats just shitty mang.......... Lemme just say this: Lotta my buddies "trust my audio knowledge" and would spend $$$ based on it....if it were to go bad/wrong/south/etc for some reason, I MYSELF would step up and pay or help pay for the fixing. The only time thus far was when some tweets burned up after seein too much power...and I think it was the owners fault for changing the gains but I still got em a new set of tweets and tried replacing the x-overs thinkin that was the issue. I'd let homie know what happened and if he's "the stand up type" he should have some labor or $$ in the fixxing. Just IMO. Hope it works out/gets worked out meng.
