bcbrassard
Looks pretty sweet. I like the tweeter mounts that came with the set. Does the dash cover do anything to the acoustics up front? Nice stealthy front stage. I bet it sounds amazing, best you have built so far? Make a vid when you get a chance.
oldsoundguy
Not sure if the dash mat works but it cant hurt. I like the looks of it. Yes best I have built so far. Best sounding and after all the work its actually a simple set up. 80prs Arc Audio Xdi 1200.6 (using active crossovers) Freaking awesome amplifier Incriminator IA 10.1 Focal PS 130v 5.25 (doors) 4" Faital pro Neo (kick panels) 3" Faital pro Neo and focal tweets( dash) DC Audio level 3 12" custom box designed by joex built by me AGM front, XS 750SE batteries rear DC 180 alt 99 Toyota Tacoma extra cab http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/179476-my-small-build-turned-into-the-ongoing-build/
oldsoundguy
I went out today to play with the set up. First off I reset the gains. I found the head unit clips at 4k hz at volume 56 so I used that volume to set the gains. I set the sub at -5db 40hz, I set the mids at 0db 1khz and the tweets at 0db 4khz. I also set the gains then backed off the tweeters until the blue light on the amp went off and did the same for mids and sub. I then set up the auto eq and auto time alignment. Back to that later. Then I played some music and it sounded ok with the auto eq but I turned it off and started to play with the eq. I set the time alignment by measuring (always liked that better) After all the F ing around I found that all I needed to do is turn off the auto EQ set the eq to flat, set the crossovers and slopes and I could get it all to sound real good just by that. I have the tweeters hpf at 2500hz -3db with a 12db slope. I have the mids hpf set at 4000hz and lpf set at 100hz with a 6db slope. The sub is set at 80hz with a 12db slope. The mids will play decent mid bass with out distortion. The tweeters don't have a harsh sound and the sub has a ton of headroom. All is good and sounds great. Tried to make a vid but my go pro needs to be charged. 80prs Arc Audio Xdi 1200.6 (using active crossovers) Freaking awesome amplifier Incriminator IA 10.1 Focal PS 130v 5.25 (doors) 4" Faital pro Neo (kick panels) 3" Faital pro Neo and focal tweets( dash) DC Audio level 3 12" custom box designed by joex built by me AGM front, XS 750SE batteries rear DC 180 alt 99 Toyota Tacoma extra cab http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/179476-my-small-build-turned-into-the-ongoing-build/
oldsoundguy
Getting a big chunk for taxes. I am looking at a couple of amplifiers. Please give me your honest opinions. Don't think about price ,,.just the amps and what I have. And yes one amp that can do it all is what I am looking at. Thanks I am just not sure I would be able to tell a difference between the two amps and my Rockford fosgate p1000x5 My Rockford puts out 75 w x 4 @ 4 ohms and 500 W x1 @ 1 ohm for the sub. With the two amps listed I can run wire my sub to a 4 ohm load and the amps would put out just a bit more power to the sub. The other 4 channels put out twice the power. Do you think I would be over powering the Focals or just giving myself a lot more headroom and a much cleaner signal? I would use channels 5-6 bridged for the sub and channels 1-4 for the mids and tweets on both amp options. ShadeTreeMechanic
I would run a separate sub amp. Even separate mid amps right and left and separate tweeter amp too. That would be my idea of ultimate but maybe that's just me. 91 C350 Centurion conversion ( Four Door One Ton Bronco) 250A Alternator (Second Alternator Coming Soon) G65 AGM Up Front / Two G31 AGM in Back Pioneer 80PRS CT Sounds AT125.2 / CT Sounds 6.5 Strato Pro component Front Stage CT Sounds AT125.2 / Lanzar Pro 8" coax w/compression horn tweeter Rear Fill FSD 5000D 1/2 ohm (SoundQubed 7k Coming Soon) Two HDS315 Four Qubes Each 34hz (Two HDC3.118 and New Box Coming Soon)

I will have to look into it. 80prs Arc Audio Xdi 1200.6 (using active crossovers) Freaking awesome amplifier Incriminator IA 10.1 Focal PS 130v 5.25 (doors) 4" Faital pro Neo (kick panels) 3" Faital pro Neo and focal tweets( dash) DC Audio level 3 12" custom box designed by joex built by me AGM front, XS 750SE batteries rear DC 180 alt 99 Toyota Tacoma extra cab http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/179476-my-small-build-turned-into-the-ongoing-build/
ShadeTreeMechanic
Well what I was going to do: I bought 4 of the CT sounds at125.2 when they were on sale for $99 each. I plan on bridging one on each front mid (dual mono), one in stereo on the tweeters, and one in stereo on the rear fill. This sounds like overkill but it will allow me to run with the gains set all the way down and leave lots of headroom. At least that's the plan if I can find a place to put all the amps. ShadeTreeMechanic
Yeah I will probably end up stacking mine. 91 C350 Centurion conversion ( Four Door One Ton Bronco) 250A Alternator (Second Alternator Coming Soon) G65 AGM Up Front / Two G31 AGM in Back Pioneer 80PRS CT Sounds AT125.2 / CT Sounds 6.5 Strato Pro component Front Stage CT Sounds AT125.2 / Lanzar Pro 8" coax w/compression horn tweeter Rear Fill FSD 5000D 1/2 ohm (SoundQubed 7k Coming Soon) Two HDS315 Four Qubes Each 34hz (Two HDC3.118 and New Box Coming Soon)
bcbrassard
The ARC amp has a better price point but is a class D amp where the Zapco is Class A/B. Either would be a great choice, a doubt you will notice any sub stage change but your mids & Highs could be cleaner and louder possible. Just depends on want you want to spend to improve your system with minimal gains. Stick with the 5 & 6 channel amps for your space requirements and ease of set up. Would you need a DD-1 to set gains of new amps?
