On a second note, I must say that JoeX has taught me to design my first box 5 years ago over at another forum, using formulas and calculation, no program, and since then I have design and built many enclosures for my self and help many others. The clear was dry when I got home so I screwed and glued the port , sides, ends, round brace and the 45's in each corner. oldsoundguy Posted April 14, 2017 Author Report Share Posted April 14, 2017 Box update. I took the first baffle and cut out the sub and the port. Then flush trimmed the port to the box. I used my jasper circle jig for the sub hole. I then transferred the cutouts to the top baffle and jig saw cut them just a bit smaller. I screwed and glued the first baffle on the box and its clamped and drying. I will fill the screw holes on the box and get it ready for its finish. I don't want to install the top baffle yet because it will get stained and cleared. I figured it would be easier than having to tape it all off not to get anything on it. I also have a cool idea for a sub trim since the two baffles will be supporting the sub. oldsoundguy Posted April 16, 2017 Author Report Share Posted April 16, 2017 Box update: Yesterday I mixed up some filler and hit the holes in the front of the box and hit the front and side seems. I only did the sides of the box you will see. No use wasting filler and paint. I did prime the whole box and just got done painting. oldsoundguy Posted April 18, 2017 Author Report Share Posted April 18, 2017 Todays update: I got off work and home by 9am. I glued the top baffle on the box. I let it dry clamped for 6 hours. I then took the router and did a 45 cut on the top edge and port. I stained the top, cut out a trim ring and put a few coats of clear on the trim ring. I will let it dry until tomorrow then I will wet sand it and clear again. oldsoundguy Posted April 19, 2017 Author Report Share Posted April 19, 2017 Box update: I wet sanded the trim ring with 1000 then 2000 W/D paper. Then I put a couple wet coats of clear on it. Its done and ready for install as soon as its dry.
