Go-N-Def
From what I understand big ports are to gain more output. What exactly is meant by output? I'm assuming It applys to spl. In a non-spl setup are big ports important? Also is there a way to figure out how much or what size a port should be based on each sub requirements then using standard guide lines? Yo dog i heard you like boxes. so i put a box inside a box so you can bass while you FAIL
Slinky
I would ask the manufacturer what they recommend. You're not going to have a universal answer for this. Triticum Agricolam
Not having enough port area will hurt the output(sound level) of the port, but it will also cause port noise and compression, which you really do not want. There is a way to figure out how much port area you need. Here is an online calculator that uses Small's formula to determine how much port area you need: http://www.carstereo.com/help/Articles.cfm?id=31 "Nothing prevents people from knowing the truth more than the belief they already know it.""Making bass is easy, making music is the hard part."Builds:
