benifit of inverted subs?

so beside not having them take up volume in the box what are the benefits of inverting a sub? I have always wondered this but never really looked into it.

I have read that it improves sound quality but I don't see how that could be.

from what I know the only benefit would be that the sub could possible stay a little cooler.

singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.

im trying to fit 3 15' subs in a 49' wide box, the box will be a 4th order with double layer of 3/4 wood. so it gives me 46 inches to work with. was thinking to invert 2 in an angle on the sealed side. maybe like 30 degrees so they can fit. which will i have to invert. the ones on the sealed side or the one in the ported side?
