RooTxBeeR
I don't know exactly what it is, but I believe f3 and f10 are the roll offs in the bandwidth of playability On 11/20/2012 at 8:54 PM, AMI CUSTOMS said: Turned mine up today at a light, guy next to me his steering wheel started moving and he looked over at me like I was a magician lol. Krakin
F3 means that that is the point in which the response has dropped in 3 decibels, f10 means it has dropped 10 decibels. Just asking if you tune at X frequency no one can tell you where your f3 and f10 will be, it depends on the woofer in use, box design, and acoustics of the playing environment. The suggestions you read suggest the response in an anechoic environment so that is not necessarily what you will get if you use that design. Krakin's Home Dipole Project http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/186153-krakins-dipole-project-new-reciever-in-rockford-science/#entry2772370 Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist? I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . . What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself but what has drawn your attention in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears, thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener.
