Bought a plunge router, now what bit do i need?

1/4" diameter. I use a 1" long bit because I don't like to cut through all of it at once. I find it best to make a few passes to keep the heat down on the bit and I burned up one trying to power through 3/4" MDF.

link to bit?

my router says 1/4 and 1/2 collet?

is that bit diameter?

I have been wondering the same. havnt ordered my router yet but was looking at this round over set, its a little pricey but am understanding these are very high quality.

I believe i heard of them of smd but am also considering mlcs bits.

Does that router also have a half inch collar or just a quarter inch?

the box says both? lol
Then I would suggest buying bits with a half inch shank. Diablo is good. Bosch is good. If you buy ryobis be prepared to be pissed off when they break halfway through a cut. I forgot what brand I use but I would have to go out to the shed. They are mostly 1/2 inch shanks. Don't expect for quarter inch shanks to cut through 1.5 inches without a few passes.

what is shank size?

The stem of the bit. You can get 1/4 inch diameter bits with a 1/2 inch shank.

I use this one, does the job and is good for making flush mounts.
