bumpinTL364 Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 ^^^that right there. 600watts is more than enough for a t-line. I ran 300 to a 12" DCON for my dorm room and it was damn near too loud…t-lines are really easy to design actually, just gotta play with how you're going to build the port to fit into the desired over enclosure size masterbation is free, and even saves you money.sorry but someone had to say itsorry, Jimmy...beat you to it (no pun intended) LOLDON'T get a wife. Best advice I never got, and now it's too late My build: 12" DCON in a dorm room. New/current build: 8" woofer, custom amplifier block, fiberglassed speaker pods
john253a Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 Read the t-line section And you'll find more then enough info on the first page to answer your questions I like 30-50%rated power And just a bee's dick under cone area for port size
alenv10 Posted January 1, 2014 Author Report Posted January 1, 2014 I might as well not do it, i dont know how to design that haha and i feel i have to much power for a tline setup NOTHING DOWN HERE YET OBSIDIAN FTW
MACnonsence6 Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 could you run rated power to a t-line or would it be similar to free airing it I picked up an MTX Sw1212 powered subwoofer today. This thing sounds amazing. 130 watts, 12" woofer with a passive 12" woofer tuned to 27 hz. Moving the pictures on the walls and my girl got wet from the bass when i showed her haha. Tonight should be good haha.
john253a Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 It's all down to cone control Idd say no But then again some have done it I had a set of sa8 in 50rms each in a t-line (100rms plate amp) And they were as loud by ear to them on 375ea ported (t-line was in workshop and ported was in trunk so not the best comparison but none the less very happy with the low power outcome)
alenv10 Posted January 1, 2014 Author Report Posted January 1, 2014 Im just going to build 2 boxes. one sealed, with a fiberglass face for show and another ported, tuned to 35 htz NOTHING DOWN HERE YET OBSIDIAN FTW
