kirill007 Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 Clean thanks for the calculator. One question though, when it says Xmax is it the lin/peak?? Xmax should be the maximum excursion where 70% of the BL is left. Xmech is actually the maximum throw that is possible. (You should never be over Xmax when plotting an enclosure) Thinking is the root of all problems... You ALWAYS get what you pay for.
alaskanzx5 Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 those xmas jokes had me laughing lol. anyways, for port area some people go by the per cube rule some by the manufacture specs. some don't even look at either of those and just build and rebuild constantly to find what they like or what works in their application for spl. say that calc says you need 120" of port, well that's a good starting point but it could be possible that less port area could work better for you application. round/flare the ends and it makes the port more efficient at stopping port noise and so less port area becomes possible. ive seen builds where adding a pvc pipe cut in half length wise and mounting to the inside of the port has helped them but for others it hurt their score. the clalc can only give a good suggestion, only testing will actually give you the best result. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.
