Awhitewookie
Okay so I made a couple small vids of my subs moving and got a lot of feedback stating that the movement looked wrong. After reviewing, I too became skeptical. How do I go about diagnosing this? Each coil reads .8 (quad 1 coils) Final load is 1.2 9v test showed each sub moving the same directiong MY BUILD 1998 Ford Explorer 2dr sport 1/0 Big 3 1/0 everything Alpine cda-9884 Crescendo CZ components (2) Crescendo bc2000's (2) Jolt 150ah (2) Yellow top optimas (1) Juicebox black cherry addition (1) Mechman 270 avbm miss my bc5500 and (4) 15's You know why people are ass holes online but not in person? Novak
my guess is that you did a series parallel wireing job (going by ur final impedence) so with you wireing some subs to series the movement is reversed and there could be your problem also it could just be the camera if you could find out the fram rate of your camera you could play a note that matches it and you will see if your subs are actually moving out of sequence aka if it has a frame rate of 60 per sec play a 60hz test tone 98 honda civic hx build in process have need sundown x-12 d4 more sound deadening sundown saz1500d v2 alternator (mechman) sky high 1/0 w/ big 3 false walls and fiberglassing amp rack (half done) and box processor kicker zx 200.4 (mids/highs) infinity reference components trunk lid rear deck and rear quarter panels deadened kinetic hc1400 under the hood (picking up 2 more late Jan early feb) check it out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1wF0CV2NaX4 November 9th, 2013 metered 140.3 at Midwest audio &detailing sealed on dash w/ termlab (w/ old alpine amp, new amp yet to be metered)
SlamminBeats
So, someone is telling you your subs look wrong based on a video where they had to rely on frame rate?
Krakin
So, someone is telling you your subs look wrong based on a video where they had to rely on frame rate? I always judge if subs are in phase while they play >30hz on a 30hz video.... Krakin's Home Dipole Project http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/186153-krakins-dipole-project-new-reciever-in-rockford-science/#entry2772370 Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist? I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . . What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself but what has drawn your attention in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears, thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener.
