Hi all 1st post,

Alpine 15" type-S DVC 500watt RMS to along

Question:

Thanks for all inputs!

if I were you i'd wire down to 1Ω than put a DMM to see how close it actually is to 1Ω. I'd than research your amp more to see if guys have ran it at 1Ω and how it did at that load.

guy I work with has an older Kicker ZX1000.1 that is rated to be only 2Ω stable but I know guys that swear up and down that it can handle a 1Ω load without issues. the guy bought my 12" TC9 sub we dropped it down to 1Ω and it took it like a champ. He's since gotten a Kinetik 2000 and doesn't drop below 13v.

if nothing changes, nothing changes

Thanks db,

this is what my RF amp says on bottom..

-------------------------------------------------

Amplifier Type Mono Channel
RMS Power at 2 Ohms 1000 W x 1
RMS Power at 4 Ohms 500 W x 1

-----------------------------------------------

It doesn't mention anything about 1ohm loads/assuming not recommended..

if i don't max out amp,

you think 1ohm kill it??

The Power1000bd is from the year 2000

if that helps

then you're stuck with 4 ohm. get a different woofer if you want to run 2 ohms.

I guess my final question is:

Can my old power1000bd handle this as a 1ohm load

if i don't turn gain up more than half way?

i wouldn't bother trying
