Eroc3k Posted January 11, 2014 Report Posted January 11, 2014 So I Have a friend that is doing his own build and he is going full polk for an SQ build??? I told him to research it further but he's gung ho on Polk. Do they put out what they say they do? any of you have any opinions on their product?

Broke_Audio_Addict Posted January 11, 2014 Report Posted January 11, 2014 What series is he planning on using? In my opinion the dxi series sounds horrible very bright tweeter and lacking mid-bass. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.
Eroc3k Posted January 11, 2014 Author Report Posted January 11, 2014 Not sure the sub, mid or highs but he's going with the PA series amps. hes doing the 4000.4 for his midbass and the 330.2 for his tweets. I think he said the 880 for his sub

SteadyMobbin Posted January 13, 2014 Report Posted January 13, 2014 I'm running the Polk MM 15's right now, sealed 1.75 cf each. They are loud and clean, passengers always mention how low they play. I wouldn't buy them again though now that I have a little more knowledge about subs. To answer your question about doing rated power: At full tilt I can make them bottom out on 480 watts rms (clamped). I'm still new to the bass scene but I assume throwing more power at them would be a waste, maybe not if they were in a proper box.
Greasemonkey2014 Posted January 26, 2014 Report Posted January 26, 2014 I've had a buddy that ran a pa660 sounds great and never got hot. There are many horrible reviews about the 880.
