Not sticky anymore? Strip the old stuff off and throw down sum 3M. Just like that Zipped and split loomed from the hole in the carpet where it comes out to the circuit breaker. Got some extra wire there. Monster XP Magnetic shielded wire, has a VERY nice outer jacket too. plan to use this for the replacements in the dash. Carpet back in, pulling the wires, blah blah blah. Remote and twisted RCA for the G4500. It has Balanced differential inputs, so twisted is the right type of RCA, right? It's like 18 feet too long, I know, but It's all I have ATM. That's a badass amp right there! So happy to have it, I hope to make the most of it with this build. There it is, the other amp. And look at all the extra OFC wire, HHHMMMMMMMMMM.......... No going back now... WHY OF COURSE! That sucker's as wide as the engine. Got a lot done, but it was dark, and getting colder, and I hadn't eaten since breakfast, so I called it quits for today. PFFFFTTT!!!! WHO NEEDS A GARAGE!?! There's all five toolboxes, and the bench seat Knowledge is the greatest tool in any garage. It's also the most priceless, and most easily shared. Little trick I came up with with the zip tie, wrap it twice. And of course, red is POS+ Adhesive Weather stripped 'em both. Shame I can't do an inverse mount. Didn't like how the screws fit, added some washers. Yeee, like that. Made sure to bolt it down carefully... looks good to me All by myself. Heavy fucker. Bent the fuck outta the scale, too . Tried like 18 times to weigh it. Not easy with one hand. T-nuts #8-32, wired with OFC to one ohm. Knowledge is the greatest tool in any garage. It's also the most priceless, and most easily shared. ChrispyShimp Posted January 12, 2014 Author Report Share Posted January 12, 2014 A revelation came to me that night! DIY copper lugs! 4 bucks for a foot of soft copper, or 3.39 for just two lugs? Well hell yeah! Not bad for the first two. They're not picture perfect, but I like 'em. AND SCOOOORRRREEEEE! It's a perfect fit! Relay and fused distributor block goes behind the glove box, fits like a glove, too! Drew that while on the john! Didn't see this till all that was left was plug and play. I fixed it, but didn't grab a pic. Battery died, I'll have another big update very soon. I gotta tell you guys, for 'just two twelves', this system really pushes the lows, I'm itching to get some flex vids. And show the local shop too! Drop their jaws! My only concern is that the material thickness of the lugs might be a tad on the thin side compared to the ones you buy? Furthermore, how much pressure is required to make the material "bond" enough for proper conductivity? Don't like sharing your knowledge? Welll.. Don't come here and grab others then! - GTFO. I think your JL's were a better choice. It's true, the W3s are still excellent fidelity subs, BUT the are only 500 rms each, this amp claims 2,700 rms at 2 ohms. I don't want to cook them. So, I did some shopping. As usual, I run by the pawnshops in the area and have a look around. I had my eye on these 'Volfenhags' for several weeks, they never sold. So I asked them to test it. It worked, but the box was terribly small and water damaged (I never planned to use that box anyway). I asked if they could pull a sub for me to look at. I wanted to see why it was so freakin heavy. When I saw the huge aluminum basket and the DVC motors, I was sold. Plus, 2 DVC of 4 = 1 ohm, getting more outta the amp I had them test each VC with their little kicker amp, it worked, and I took it home. My goal with this build was to reach the biggest fattest lows I possibly could using the equipment I had, and viola! The hood of my truck flexes, the truck bed, the tailgate, everything! I'm not too worried about keeping them in the 'safe zone' RMS wise. It's for beating on , and it does what I wanted all along very well, BIG FAT STOMPING LOWS!!!! To Zrkie, I crimped the shit out of it, it seems to hold pretty well, did a small pull test, it survived, I'll have more pics soon. Knowledge is the greatest tool in any garage.
