voltage question.

fuse for the wire not the alt, the stock wire is most likely safe to 100amps which is why there would be a 100amp fuse for it stock.

a poor connection can cause it to arc and heat up, specially on bumpy roads where the wire will move more.

you can keep the stock wiring attached and run a 1/0 gauge power wire just make sure you have solid tight connections. the 1/0 gauge might not really help with that small alt but if you plan to upgrade the alt wont hurt to do it know.

singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.

The nuts were loose on the 300 amp fuse holder, no question.

Just re-do the cable with a new fuse holder and make sure the set screws on the fuse holder are tight and you should have zero problems.

Or, just leave the stock wiring in place and remove the 1/0 gauge cable. 1/0 gauge cable is WAY overkill for a stock 80 amp alternator, and is probably not helping you at all.

the car has come with 2 8 guage wires from the alternator to the battery. before i had teh system in the car and the stock wire the head lights would dimm every the fan or blower kicked on for the ac and the heater. now they do not since i upgraded the wire.
