I remember listening to my brother's Cerwin Vega's back in the mid 90's. They were so freaken loud. He told me be bought them stolen from some random thief that didn't know the value of them and was able to get a good deal for them.

I must say that I am disappointed in the new stroker.

Strokers of the past were innovative and unique.

The new versions are pretty much run of the mill design with common type parts.

Beefy yes, probably perform nice. But nothing really special.

I mostly agree with Ed, I'm not so much disappointed but before when you saw a stroker, there was no doubt that it was a stroker. Not much else like it. This new one looks good, but its not as unique as I picture a stroker. Cerwin Vega has always had good looking woofers with a little added "flair" I guess. The goofy yellow vents, however, give more of an Audiobahn feel.

My major disappoint with Cerwin-Vega! is that they aren't at all the company they used to be. And I don't mean product wise.

I understand that things change and they went through a rough patch financially- and one can argue that their business model was not viable in this new economy.... BUT. Cerwin-Vega used to be American owned and American Made. As I understand it, what is now considered Cerwin-Vega! is so pretty much in name. They once built everything in the states, from the ground up- and employed LOTS of people who were enthusiastic about what they did (and their pay). Now I think most of their stuff is built overseas in large build houses like so many other companies. So in a way, I totally agree with you Ed.

Don't get me wrong, I would still love to have a mess of these. ...but they just don't give me the warm and fuzzies like their old original series did. The original Strokers and Vegas....
