mrtopnotch561 Posted February 2, 2014 Report Posted February 2, 2014 How does this look for a start? Set up will be 4 SA-10's on 2500 watts in a 2004 Ford Explorer.. I was debating between 2 6" aeros or 1 8"?? Also i listen to a wide range of music from rap, r&b, reggae, to dubstep occasionly so i think about 35hz tuning is a good medium.. I will be adding some bracing as well but this is just a start.. what do you guys think? any input appreciated not to good with all this lol..
Joe X Posted February 2, 2014 Report Posted February 2, 2014 Check sub upward and add an extra layer to the baffle. Also I would go for 12s.
mrtopnotch561 Posted February 2, 2014 Author Report Posted February 2, 2014 Check sub upward and add an extra layer to the baffle. Also I would go for 12s. Ok.. and i already have the 10's.. why you say 12's? Plus im not really trying to take up the entire cargo area as of right now..
mrtopnotch561 Posted February 3, 2014 Author Report Posted February 3, 2014 Would 4 4" aeros be better? Any input anyone?
alaskanzx5 Posted February 3, 2014 Report Posted February 3, 2014 search what the recommended port area is per 10 from the manufacturer then multiply that number by 4. That's how much port area you want to shoot for. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.
CleanSierra Posted February 3, 2014 Report Posted February 3, 2014 4 4" ports is less port area than the 2 6" ports. Just stick with the twin 6"ers and let er rip. That should really be plenty of port area for a good sounding enclosure. I agree with Joe that you should do a double baffle and fire the subs up. Make sure to leave 6" of clearance if firing the ports toward the back to prevent noise or chuffing Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

Joe X Posted February 3, 2014 Report Posted February 3, 2014 Or 2 6s as well as suggested, in either case you need to keep one diameter of clearance in both ends of the ports.

Ok gotcha.. got a question when I plugged let's say 5 cu ft net into psp-inc with same around 35 hz it's giving me a different length than what i put in torres.. Why is that
Joe X Posted February 4, 2014 Report Posted February 4, 2014 Enter in PSP the net volume you get in Torres to make sure the PSP is getting correct data, the difference in Tuning results will show only for two ports or more, the PSP will give the correct tuning.
