zanekeimigdesigns
My friend and i are building a box going in a tahoe for four supercharged dd 9518's. this is our first time to do a build like this and just looking for some insight on how many cubes and port info if anyone with experience would chime that'd be great. dd tech says to put each sub in roughly 5 cubes. but they dont provide real good ts parameters (maybe i havent looked for them hard enough.) we are wanting to get loud but we are not going to any spl contest we just want it to sound bad ass on a broad spectrum. SlamminBeats
dont put them in 5 cubes each... you gain so much output getting them in at least 6 i speak from experience.... Youre wasting money putting those subs in that lttle airspace.
SlamminBeats
is this a wall or cargo box?
zanekeimigdesigns
We wanted to wall it but there is still a lien on the Tahoe so maybe wall it later
SlamminBeats
i went from 5.5 cubes once to 6.6 and it was a joke how much louder i got. i cant imagine how bad 5 cubes would be. i would only run 3 of them IMO

CleanSierra
What year Tahoe? I think you're going to be hard pressed to for 4 of those 18s in the cargo area in a legit box. The last box I did I'm a Suburban was for the Z 18s which only had 4.5 cubes per sub since 4 is all they called for. The DDs are going to want much more air than the Sundowns. The box for those 18s was 50" deep by 49" wide and I can't remember how tall but a little over seat height. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you. CleanSierra
Also, assuming you stick with the 17" of port per foot(which I don't, but will work fine),and assuming 6.5 cubes per sub, that's 442" if port. That port will be huge and eat up a lot of airspace. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
