JeepAndBassXJ Posted February 8, 2014 Report Posted February 8, 2014 So I just want to make sure that I have connected everything the right way. All the green dots are places where wires connect to each other at terminals and such, red is positive, black negative. My jeep has a stupid starter relay that seems to only work if the alternator is wired to it then it to the battery; I think I tried to wire the alternator directly to the battery and another run from the battery to the relay but as I recall it did not work. I don't know why it needs to be this way. I used my multimeter and it shows there is a lot of resistance between these connections. Other than that I think everything else is ok, I might move the amplifier's ground to the second battery but that's all I think I could do at this point. If you have any suggestions on different wiring methods or places I need to add runs that will improve the electrical greatly that would be awesome. Fuses are not shown! Rich Schenk Posted February 8, 2014 Report Posted February 8, 2014 i would ground your rear amp to back battery. and have that rear batt close to that amp On 3/28/2014 at 4:22 PM, KyLar96 said: Its all about the music anyway..... Devil Reject Posted February 8, 2014 Report Posted February 8, 2014 The positive you have going from battery to starter relay, can you take that to the alt instead?
Kyblack76 Posted February 8, 2014 Report Posted February 8, 2014 Fusing? and why the alt run to the starter? SMD SUPER SELLER The Burban Build Blazer Build sold Acura trunk build sold
JeepAndBassXJ Posted February 8, 2014 Author Report Posted February 8, 2014 I do want to ground the amp at the battery, the battery is as close as possible. I have fusing everywhere I just did not draw it. And that is not the starter, it is just a starter relay thing that jeep used in the car as kind of a distribution block, for some reason the alternator cable goes to it before the battery. Guest Posted February 8, 2014 Report Posted February 8, 2014 that's weird. you'd usually want a power filter (battery) before distributing alt power to electrical components
JeepAndBassXJ Posted February 8, 2014 Author Report Posted February 8, 2014 I know, but for some reason every jeep wireing diagram I find for mine and many other cars is the same like that, it distributes power to a lot of the car's ignition components. I'm wondering if I could just run 2 runs from the alternator, one the way I have it now and add another that goes to the battery, stratifying jeeps wiring diagrams and my resistance concern, YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/JeepAndBass Website: https://www.jeepandbass.com/ My Jeep: 157.3dB @26hz Drag Style 162.3dB @36Hz Outlaw 160.7db @35hz Headrest My Honda: 155.4dB Drag Style 158.0db Outlaw

I would go directly to the alternator with the negative and positive then distribute as needed 1-888-MECHMAN www.Mechman.com [email protected]
