Kojis_26 Posted February 15, 2014 Author Report Posted February 15, 2014 1 ohm stable amp. Won't be good what u tryin to tell me
CleanSierra Posted February 15, 2014 Report Posted February 15, 2014 if the amp is a one channel amp, a mono amp, then no, you can't wire mes that sub to a one ohm load. Had you wanted to write to a one ohm load for a single sub setup, you would have wanted to purchase a D2 ohm sub. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
CleanSierra Posted February 15, 2014 Report Posted February 15, 2014 What amp do you have? Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
Kojis_26 Posted February 15, 2014 Author Report Posted February 15, 2014 It's a hifonics brx 16001.d. And. It's one ohm stable. So
n3w_3ra Posted February 15, 2014 Report Posted February 15, 2014 Hes telling you that your sub cant be wired to 1 ohm, only .5 ohms and 2 ohms. so either you will fry the hifonics or not get maximum power from it.
sbg Posted February 15, 2014 Report Posted February 15, 2014 That sub is going to lol at that amp. After volt drop and other shit. I have 2 12" soundqubed hdc3 in my kia right now on a brz2400 and they don't hardly move. Is your sub a d1 or d2? Those 5 cubes and a 3500. I need 5cubes and a 3500 yes. Been saving for the 3500 and just need to build the box. I had a 5cuft box tuned to 35hz and all that but it didn't fit in my car with out the seats down so I have a 4cuft right now and the brz2400. 01 focus se 110 amp alt Big 3 sky high and stinger hpm ofc 1/0 Super start platinum AGM (starting) 2 runs of 1/0 Execution audio front to back Kenwood double DIN DDx271 A pillars- orion 4" super tweeter and 2-1" alpines. sbg Posted February 15, 2014 Report Posted February 15, 2014 So dude your only going to get like 1000 watts to that sub if your lucky with that sub/amp combo. Your sub can only be ran at 1/2 a ohm or 2 ohm. So if you run at 2 ohm you will not get full power out if the amp. And if you run at 1/2 a ohm you will kill the amp because it's not made to run that low of a ohm load. 01 focus se 110 amp alt Big 3 sky high and stinger hpm ofc 1/0 Super start platinum AGM (starting) 2 runs of 1/0 Execution audio front to back Kenwood double DIN DDx271 A pillars- orion 4" super tweeter and 2-1" alpines. Nikitaaa Posted February 15, 2014 Report Posted February 15, 2014 Okay everyone that is saying the amp will surely fry at half ohm is full of it. Dont be an idiot and clip the crap out of it. Look, listen, smell and feel and you SHOULD be fine. If I could run my crunch gp3000d at .25 daily that brutus or whatever should do the job at half. Keep in mind, yes, there is a chance you will fry the amp if you drop to too low of a reactive impedence and the protection circuit doesn't engage. But its a risk one must take when wiring below stable impedence. 2007 M/T Honda Civic Coupe EX (4) Sundown Audio X-8's (2) Ampere Audio 3800.1's (3) Stinger SPV-44 Batteries (1) Mechman 240 3:1 Ratio 4th order sealed from the trunkTEAM NWSPLBest termlab scores to date in Honda trunk:151.7db legal (official) IASCA trunk 3 classBest termlab scores to date in my walled Subie:152.9db legal (unofficial) IASCA advanced 2 class155db outlaw

And to add, he don't even know ohm laws so why do you think he will be ok to run at .5. 01 focus se 110 amp alt Big 3 sky high and stinger hpm ofc 1/0 Super start platinum AGM (starting) 2 runs of 1/0 Execution audio front to back Kenwood double DIN DDx271 A pillars- orion 4" super tweeter and 2-1" alpines. jmanjr82 Posted February 15, 2014 Report Posted February 15, 2014 The real question to the OP is this: are you willing to jump ship and start over? I say that for various reasons. Not trying to be a dick, but I am trying to aid you in your exploration to building a worthy system. Its pretty safe to say your going to be hard pressed to fit that 18 in your truck, backed up by the fact you don't have an ideal wiring situation in your favor, on top of that what do you have/planned for electrical? I believe you could pull off a single 15 or 2-12s in your truck, but your going to need more power if you keep the same subs, if you down grade you can probably use the same amp you have, but ensure you get subs with the right coils to wire down to a 1ohm load. Check you the rockford fosgate site (or any others) that have a woofer wiring guide on there for A it shows you what coils to get based on your plan and B you will learn how to wire subs in series and parallel if you pay attention. If your bound to start over then a budget would be very helpful as well.
