Dylan Mohammed Posted February 15, 2014 Report Posted February 15, 2014 Just installed an Alpine MRP-F250 and i'm getting a distorted sound. Wired speakers at 4 ohms and 2 ohms bridged, doesn't get loud at all even when the volume up to 62/62. The amp is grounded good, and its getting power. Also, the speakers aren't the problem because they were playing good when i had them on deck power. Any ideas?

poorfish88 Posted February 15, 2014 Report Posted February 15, 2014 The amp can't be safely wired to 2ohms bridged. 4ohm bridged only.
Dylan Mohammed Posted February 15, 2014 Author Report Posted February 15, 2014 speakers getting overdriven? or were overdriven and have been damaged are my guesses have you check your rcas No, their rms power is 40-140. Never had any problems with the rcas im using before. How are the RCAs? how did you set the gain on the amp? RCAs are good.Gains are set to nom. The amp can't be safely wired to 2ohms bridged. 4ohm bridged only. My mistake, it is bridged at 4.
RooTxBeeR Posted February 15, 2014 Report Posted February 15, 2014 I asked how you set the gains, not if they are nominal. Dylan Mohammed Posted February 15, 2014 Author Report Posted February 15, 2014 I asked how you set the gains, not if they are nominal. Just by listening, and its sounds the same no matter what I set it too.

The amplifier might be blown? Where did you get it from?
