Applejack Posted March 11, 2008 Report Posted March 11, 2008 Okay, so i have a 2001 blazer 4 door. At the current time i have 2 12" Memphis PR and a "600" watt sony xplode. well....i want louder...Im wondering if i should get 2 more memphis subs and a JL 1000.1 or memphis 1000.1. Or if i should just get 1 BLT and the JL 1000.1 or Memphis 1000.1. im stuck and really need help. Other suggestions are gladly accepted. -Rod Quote Midwest Car Audio is on facebook! http://www.facebook.com/pages/Midwest-Car-Audio-Association/101253286585630
D_Bass Posted March 11, 2008 Report Posted March 11, 2008 i've never been a big fan of memphis....personaly i would pick BTL... but 2 more memphis' might be nice with the memphis amp....going memphis keep it all memphis Quote To Slide Sideways Or Not To Slide Sideways? dwright27 Posted March 11, 2008 Report Posted March 11, 2008 whats your electrical consist of? and why a JL 1000.1? the power supply lets it put out 1000+ RMS at 1.5 - 4 ohms, but for that kinda money you could have for instance a Kicker ZX/KX2500.1 and have almost 3 times the power. and if you're running memphis i recommend the M3 or the Mojo. stay away from the memphis 4KW though cause its a huge power hog! dwright27 Posted March 11, 2008 Report Posted March 11, 2008 the memphis 1kw's are nice and i have an old school one here that needs repair and i ran it at .5 ohms for a few months before my voltage dropped and she went up in smoke. weird thing is i can still plug her up and it smoke. Applejack Posted March 11, 2008 Author Report Posted March 11, 2008 Do you mean 1 amp for every speaker? or 1 1300w amp? im not gonna lie, i want to flex....i want to be one of the cool kids :/ help me get there plzzzzz Quote Midwest Car Audio is on facebook! http://www.facebook.com/pages/Midwest-Car-Audio-Association/101253286585630
roscoe1129 Posted March 11, 2008 Report Posted March 11, 2008 (edited) its gonna take more than some pr's then. I had 4 pr12's single 4ohm in my single cab ram running off 1200 and it was badass but your not gonna get the hardcore flex from them. They will shake you up a bit though. Oh and yes 1 single amp. those pr's are only rated 250-500w I believe. but if you do 4 of them sub up port to the rear it will bang nicely! Applejack Posted March 12, 2008 Author Report Posted March 12, 2008 okay, so I've decided to go with a a kicker zx1500.1 and just run the 4 subs, should be around 800, that includes, the amp, the 2 more subs, wiring, install, and power cap. thoughts/comments?
