bbeljefe
It's only the 4 channel because alternator whine is a high frequency. You should check all of the vehicle grounds, especially the engine to battery and frame to battery connections. It's a lot more likely that your noise is being induced there than from a power wire being close to the signal wires. gibblegeibel
yes, your power wire should be on the other side of your rc cables. to Me it doesn't seen like one thing is causing this to happen seems like a few little things. is your ground short and as thick as your power wire? to me it looks like.your whining noise is coming from your power wire connection and location. and the pop sound is coming from a ground that isn't as good as it can be. if the ground is eh then power will stay in the amp then discharge when its shut off making a thud/pop noise. i have a few questions 1. what size is your power wire and ground for the 60.4 2. where is the ground for the 60.4 (at the frame?) 3. does your sub amp have this problem Also? 4. have you just ran the ct Amp to the battery instead of the starter wire? the power and ground wire are both 4 gauge wire. the ground is connected to the sear bolt then to the frame. no the sub amp does not. i changed the wire location. i move the power wire to the battery with the other power wire. off the starter wire. John Fassetta
I have annoying alternator whine too that I haven't been able to figure out. I've heard that you can ground the RCA's somehow but I'm not exactly sure how that'd work.
Hammer Knock
do you have a relay for your amps remote? i have an opti6k and it does the same thing when the remote or power to the amp drop below a certain level. not sure, try that if the car doesn't stall, you have enough voltage. n8ball2013
You do not need tp have your power and rca on opposite sides if you use a decent rca. You know shielded twisted pair and all. The ground loop could be a myriad of things.but I highly doubt it's because you have rca and power close together. If you looked under my amp rack my rca and power wire are all touching. Sometimes you can't help it. I have no noise. You can put a relay on your remote leads and it may solve your turn off pop. My truck does it. John Fassetta
Not trying to threadjack just trying to pose a question that might also help the threadstarter. Could you just run the amp grounds back to the battery and avoid and chance of groundloop feedback?
