Bypassing Factory Amp

Recommended Posts

My gf has a 09 Pontiac G6. I ordered her 2 Sundown E-10s and they arrived yesterday (ONE BADASS 10!!!). I will be putting a SQ1200 I had lying around in her car to power the the subs and a XS Power-750. The problem is she wants to keep her factory HU because she still wants to see her warning codes, outside temp, etc. Pontiac uses the Monsoon system so I know she has a factory amp in the trunk. Can I simply splice in a RCA line out converter with the factory amp or is there something else I need to do?

Thanks guys. I had heard from different people that I could use an LOC and that I couldnt because the signal wouldn't be strong enough for low freq to my amp. But I also have a 3sixty.2 laying around but I can't find the software cd because i've got a new laptop. Thanks again. I will probably do a build log of this too :)

@KyLar696 who makes a really good. I seen one from Scoshe in Wal-Mart but I doubt that one is reliable

Audio control lc2i has been working good for me as a line out converter. But I may have installed wrong because I used signal out of my VW's factory dyne audio amp to feed the loc? The optional gain knob is also recommended.
