Grant Whalen Posted April 2, 2014 Author Report Posted April 2, 2014 I have been really busy lately and have yet to finish sanding I'm looking tomorrow morning to finish them and I've been driving around with them mocked up so I know they won't fall from the weight since it's a 20 yr old car lol and yes! 3.5 Rockford fosgate punch's my pops used them in his ghetto speaker box and they have bass blockers n all so I thought since they are 30w rms 60w max I'd just run them off my HU and everything else off amps so yeah haha plan on getting the d3400 d3100 a 12" mayhem which will be up for sale and about 50-75 ft of 0 gauge OFC wire and getting it all installed within a week or two then just amplifiers and sub enclosure finishing up and I'll be pretty much done! .... For now... I have been trying to find an amplifier which puts out 4500 watts at about 80% efficiency cause I'll have beast electrical do if you know of any if love to hear!
JNells Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 I just saw a guy on SMD selling a ct4500... Tested 5200 @1 ohm 14.4v. I think he was asking 950 but seemed aggressive to sell so maybe could talk him down. Not sure how much you're looking to spend, but in that wattage range you should be prepared to spend a little more.. Crescendo makes nice amps, pretty efficient too from what I've read. That'd be my recommendation. I asked about the RF 3.5s bc I am considering running a set in my center console (opposite of kicks) as kind of a center channel ran off my head unit with bass blockers. Kinda wondering how they sound to determine if it's worth it. Malibu Build Log
Grant Whalen Posted April 2, 2014 Author Report Posted April 2, 2014 I was just looking around and I can get 2 aq 2200s for 650 for the pair puts out around 4500 strapped but ifk if I want to strap an amp to a sub or just run in series to 1 amp
