Guest
powermaster alt did you get that alt for like $250 then? dont slam at idle and you might probably hold voltage while driving.
SnowDrifter
You still have your stock alt? I'd put it back in if I were you. Personal opinion. Those alts typically perform worse than stock when it comes to idle output. And their reliability... Let me put it this way: Leaves something to be desired ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
ChevyBoy95
both those amps are basically crap, including the planet audio. I personally, would try and find a used 2k amplifier on the forums, something like a sundown, crescendo, DC, etc. So you can give them 1000w a piece and the amp will last... if the gains are set correctly and not by ear. Guest
for future references mike, if you can purchase a brand new high output alt that comes out to be like $1 or so per amp ($200 for a 200 amp alt) then it is NOT going to be a good product. trust me. if you spend $2 per amp ($400 for 200 amp alt) then you are getting good quality. edit: you can cheap out on amps or whatever, idgaf. but please do NOT in the future EVER skimp out on an alternator. if that thing goes out while you're driving, you have X amount of time before your car straight up dies and you're stranded on the side of the road with a dead alt and dead batts.
