rsfm089
I was reading the big three tutorial and a comment was made about needing a regulator? I am planning to put in a 275amp hairpin alt. I was told it was direct bolt on no modifications required. Is there something I need to know about regulators and my car. My car is a 96 Honda civic. An internally regulated alt has the regulator built in and does just that, regulates charging voltage. An external regulator is usually an adjustable regulator, allowing you to customize what you charge at. Your car has an internal regulator. Most aftermarket HO alts are plug n play alts. You should have no problem.
