bdog Posted April 26, 2014 Report Share Posted April 26, 2014 todays foam is treated and lasts much longer than the stuff from the 90's. that being said i still have sony tower speakers from 1991 when i bought them and they are still good. Joe X Posted April 26, 2014 Report Share Posted April 26, 2014 Likely brands above haven't been selling long enough for widespread surround failures to occur yet anyways (8+ years is said to be usually needed). If supposedly UV protected foam surrounds will fail it will take a few years to be known. I wouldn't worry too much though as recones are offered for all those subs.
