Seymore Posted March 8, 2014 Report Posted March 8, 2014 I'm putting a single HDS312 in my '01 civic, and I'm torn between OFC or CCA 1/0 from Knu Koncepts. I mean their wire's almost extremely oversized and the CCA is rated at 250A for 20' and 250A @13v(estimating voltage drop) is still rated at 3200+ watts vs OFC's 350A @13v which is 4500w+. Now usually on my long runs i'll use OFC only but i'm a little strapped for cash at the moment and I know that i'm never going to go over 1500w in this car as long as I own it. WastedTalent Posted March 8, 2014 Report Posted March 8, 2014 imo, ofc is used when... you can't do runs. like for example, you're competing in a class that limits how many runs you can have. or, you just cannot physically fit x amount of runs. you can do 2 runs of cca for the price of 1 run of ofc...
