hdorre Posted March 14, 2014 Report Share Posted March 14, 2014 The hole for the speaker needs to be 6". The speaker + its mounting bracket is 6 7/8" in diameter. The mounting bracket (metal ring with the screw holes) is commonly called the flange. Maybe the wording confused you?
