JL 3w3-12 experiences?

As for the amps, I am will to pay a little more dollars for a good one. I don't want to skimp out on a cheap but more powerful amp. Definitely want quality amps. Box wise I was looking at JL's sealed one or building a good ported one. I have never built one before though, but I don't see it as being hard. I am leaning towards the ported one seeing it would probably fit my type of car better (Buick Lesabre) and the type of tunes I would be playing. I will be looking into those 3 fi bls and dc more tonight. I appreciate everyone's feedback on this forum and reviews seeing that a lot of you seem more experienced with car audio than a lot of the customer reviews on sonic or crutch. There are some pretty decent ones one those sites though, you just have to weed out the bad ones.

Dude, it sounds like JL is what you want. Get it then, people here are giving you honest opinions of other brands that make there quality at a lot less price. I was a RF nut and diid my whole build with RF equipment so i know where your coming from. But having the knowledge i have now i would do it differently. I am dumping my T1D212 for 2 SQ HDS310s off the T1500. Probly upgrade later to something better. Point being there is great equipment out there, do your research if you want something different. Otherwise get your JL and learn for yourself. Some brands are just way over priced JL, RF are surely a couple.

I ran two jl15w3v2 on two jl 1000 in a 4th order blow through designed by jl hands down best 4th I ever heard.I would in a heart beat buy those subs if made them again.just run more of them though lol

I'm not saying get type rs! I'll.sell you mine if you want! ; ) there very decent but better can be had. I've doing this for 13years now and I'll never go jl again! ever! id put my type rs against any pair of w3s out there.

if that's what you want do it! its your money do what makes you Happy. but you have a room full of audiophiles saying no! dont!stop! you can read all the reviews you want by the 17yr old kid who thinks it's crazy loud And his mirror moves. or you can take advice from people here who Brake mirrors And flex windows!

do me a favor, YouTube some w3s "flexing" a car then YouTube some fi bl, dc level 3-4, sundown z3s flexing a car And then tell me what you rather spend $300 bucks on.

For the most part I plan on purchasing a full new car audio system for my ride in two weeks. Tax Returns. I haven't fully made up my mind on anything yet but this is what I have been leaning towards. Head Unit - Kenwood KDC-x998 (one of the better 1-din that will fit my ride and that puts out 4v pre-amps and a good equalizer). I really also liked the Apline CDE-HD149BT, but I guess doesn't fit my ride. Same with Pioneer's 80 PRS. I will be going with 5 1/4'' components in the front. Been looking at Polk db5251, Alpine Type R's, or Focal. Looking to stay around $200 - $300 price range with the front components. In a previous post, I was turning between getting a 5 channel JL HD900/5 or Alpine PDX-V9 to power my comps and sub (JL 3w3-12 2ohm). Both those amps rated 100w x 4 and 500w x 1. Or I was looking at a JL XD600/6 to power my comps and 6x9's with a Mono JL JX500/1D or XD600/1 to power my sub. The 6x9's I was looking at were Alpine SPR-69's or there was also some Focal's that I was interested in. And as for the sub, as per this topic, JL 3w3-12 2 ohm. I liked this sub by reviews I was reading as well as the 100w- 500w RMS that it is rated at. I figured plugging 500w -600w up to that JL sub would be just perfect. That is what my plans have started to formulate into. I am open to any suggestions though, as I would not like to have any regrets when done. That's why I started this post about the 3w3's. This way now you guys can get a little better idea of what I have been looking into. My amp setups, I am willing to pay a little more for an efficient, quality, stay somewhat cool amp. Box wise I was looking at JL's sealed one they offered or building a ported one. My ride is a Buick LeSabre Sedan. Someone had mentioned to me to think about putting two ports to my trunk, through my rear dash panel.

you just love alpine and jl huh? one day you'll realize what a waste of Money they are. if i were you, almost any pioneer head unit, crescendo comps up front (id go ct meso but that's me) a decent ampre or dc 4channel. subs either fi bl, or sundown sa 12s in a box built for them! amp either a ct sound 1400.1, dc 1k, or sq 2200, no rear stage 6x9s. big 3 upgrade a extra battery and lots of deadner. not only would mine be louder and sound better then yours it would be a few hundred cheaper!

Just looked at the subs you mentioned, kind of fast but will look into more tonight. Man some of those look like they would rattle one of my rims off. lol. Lot of watts to power also. What type of amp have you been putting two power those monsters?

The CT sounds Strato 12" look like maybe a match for me. Lot of those brands I have never heard before. More of a smaller custom build sub company? Some of those look like way more pound than I am after. The CT's look good.

some of the best brands are dc, sundown, sq, ct sounds(my favorite but hard to get) you could look into execution audio. they are really well priced and do rated if not a bit more. every amp I've listed does at very least what it says on it...if not more. my ct 1400.1 is a 12volt amp. it does 1500w at 12v at 1ohm. at 14volts it does over 2000w at 1ohm. plus it can handle 16volts And a .5ohm load. your jl amps can't do any of that and there $250 more. ? right?

i cant really tell you what is better then the other no vs threads but i can say i don't like jl and there over priced.

Bro do searching on YouTube. you can search almost any sub on any amount of power. stay on for a while watch a ass ton of vids. pinpoint a sub you love, i mean the look,Color, basket.. love it! (fyi the company fi lets you customize the subs) once you find a sub then well help you find a amp. theres the smd partners list here you can see the full specs of all the subs were talking about and see the prices. just please do some looking before you drop $300 + on a sub!
