FocusOn20s Posted March 17, 2014 Report Posted March 17, 2014 It's the PCM controlled alt bro. I hate it on my 2012 Focus. I just drive around with parking lots and fogs on and it keeps voltage at 14.4. Probably straining the shit out of my alt (stock 150a alt) but ohwell. I need them volts!!
Ninja_v1.0 Posted March 17, 2014 Report Posted March 17, 2014 yep he is correct.. you think 14.4 is good.. i hot charge in the summer in the lanes at 13.4 sometimes lower. Its the pcm that is controlling your voltage. Winter will always be higher and summer will be lower.. its we world we live in when you have a ford. There are some ways to bypass it but that would need a convo with singer or kyle from dc power. When your at the top everyone is coming for you, friends, family, haters and even those who don't know you.. my advice.. KILL EM ALL
gckless Posted March 17, 2014 Report Posted March 17, 2014 It's not only Ford, Honda and other foreign makes started doing it earlier actually. But yeah, either crank the AC or save up for external regulation. Older vehicles are so much easier electrical-wise. "Clipping" is the biggest forum boner now. It's like witchcraft... it automatically explains just about everything people don't understand.
