Guest Posted March 21, 2014 Report Posted March 21, 2014 prefabs make woofers sound terrible oh yes i noticed a fucking night and day difference when i got my box from highoutputenclosures tuned to 34hz vs prefab also if you can invest in a dd-1 for the gain its a life saver, if you dont have one at 0 (bass boost always 0) Gonna check these guys out, as Im sure they're not local for me being as it seems car audio is non existant In Washington, Do they ship? Would be nice to meet some fellow car audio enthusiasts. In regards to the DD1 Im gonna be picking one up as part of the arsinal on top of the crossover meter. Tried to contact steve about maybe a discount code but no reply. What exactly is the gain on my amp? Being as there is no official gain label. Is that the "Bass EQ" Part? yes they ship Cant get they're webpage to work. Ill try later, Ok so your saying Bass EQ should be 0 though? If so how come? because there is no need to boost anything if the amp is already tuned with the gain/level to output 100% power.
soundstream15 Posted March 22, 2014 Report Posted March 22, 2014 glad that worked for you. just make sure your not using anything bass boost. this does nothing for you. just adds a lot of distortion into your amp and subs, as well as loudness on the head unit. all it does and amplify the signal basically a big bass boost. its louder at lower volumes. just wanted to touch that up with you remember kids just say no to bass boost, mmk?

I managed to kill it for the longest time and now Ive been bit again. Maybe some AA or Sundown? When the time comes, Ill be looking to you guys for a new amp. For now, This Hifonics will do with the subs I have. Its wired to 2ohm so its around 400-450w per 250/500w sub. Im sure they're not gonna last long, Ive had them long enough anyways. More motivation to get something better with more power. Gotta do some serious work around the trunk and rear of the car area to, Losing alot of solid sound due to heavy vibrations. Old 85 Cadillac
