rsfm089 Posted March 24, 2014 Report Posted March 24, 2014 I pound on my pos system(ha shouldn't even call it that)all the time. Amp never gets hot and subs never smell. Today my subs started to smell but only at really low power about ten percent. When I'm at a hundred percent they don't smell at all. My amp also gets warm when its at low volume but is cool to the touch when its at high volume. Shouldn't it be the other way around.
timc31610 Posted March 24, 2014 Report Posted March 24, 2014 Yep, should be the other way around. Make sure you dont have a grounded RCA set from your HU to your amp. Joe X Posted March 24, 2014 Report Posted March 24, 2014 Engage your subsonic filter to 28Hz as a preventive measure, if you have loudness setting active on your head unit disable it, in any case be quick to determine what's going on.
