John Fassetta Posted March 26, 2014 Report Posted March 26, 2014 So I've got one Hifonics GLX2200.1 that I've been pretty happy with and does 2200rms at 1ohm. I've been wanting to take a bigger step up into the world of bass and am wondering if I would be better off buying a second GLX2200.1 and strapping them for 4400 rms at 2 ohms or selling my current amp with I figure I can get $200 for and try and find a used SAZ3500 or similar in the $500 price range. Any opinions on what would be the smarter move?
hazestorm23 Posted March 26, 2014 Report Posted March 26, 2014 Get something different then the hifonics
EP95 Posted March 26, 2014 Report Posted March 26, 2014 That sundown puts out more at 4 ohms than the hifics does at 1.
XmaximuS Posted March 26, 2014 Report Posted March 26, 2014 Don't you just love getting opinions on your amp where no one has any experience with them. You said it yourself. that you are pleased with your current amp. So it definitely wouldn't hurt to add another. One bigger is cool. But to find a used saz3500 for 500 bones is a needle in a haystack to find. Anything is possible. Good luck. X MY BUILD LOG>>>> NAH I BETTER NOT..
n8ball2013 Posted March 26, 2014 Report Posted March 26, 2014 Power wise it would be a wash basically with the sundown making more power by a smudge I'd say. I also have hifonics issues and would rather die in a fire than run anything they make at this point. One amp is easier to wire and run too.
