RowdyMoody Posted March 27, 2014 Report Posted March 27, 2014 Hello. I have been looking around for some cheap 1/0 wire to do my big 3 and after a lot of looking around it would seem that knukonceptz is going to be my best bet. I know it is CCA not OFC, but when I pound my system as loud as I possibly can I am only getting very minor dimming, hardly noticeable. That being said I have absolutely no plans of upgrading to a higher power system in the future, what I have now is more than plenty for my tastes. I feel that even though it is CCA, adding it to my electrical system should clear up my slight dimming. Anybody have any experiences with Knukonceptz for big 3 wires? I am also open to any other suggestions for cheaper and/or better quality. Just try to keep in mind I am going for cheap. Input is appreciated, thanks!

Phaeton Posted March 27, 2014 Report Posted March 27, 2014 I used Knu wire on my big 3, i would recommend the OFC Kolossus. Bump4life Posted March 27, 2014 Report Posted March 27, 2014 you will always have dimming if your voltage is dropping. chances are unless you have a high output alt or a lot of capacitors you will always have some sort of dimming. adding the 0 gauge KNU CCA might reduce dimming though. RowdyMoody Posted March 27, 2014 Author Report Posted March 27, 2014 Unfortunately my car is not equipped with a voltage meter so I cannot watch to see exactly how much it is dipping. My alternator is 130A. I am pushing a 12" BTL with an Alpine MRX-M240 wired to a 4 ohm load for 1500 watts RMS. Like I said the dimming I get is very minor - hardly noticeable. I am hoping that the slight dimming is due to my stock electrical wiring having too much resistance, and that by adding my big 3 (even with cheap CCA knukonceptz 1/0) the dimming will cease.
4bannger Posted March 29, 2014 Report Posted March 29, 2014 The I used the knukonceptz 1/0 kandykable caa and I will say it helped my dimming and voltage I think the better grounds did most of it. I read a thread on one of the forums that the difference between ofc and Cca as far as conductivity goes is unmeasurable. Idk how much of This is true but he was pretty Indepth and test like 20 different 1/0 wires and knukonceptz came in like 2nd or 3rd I believe
