cgrez33 Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 I currently have a Pontiac G6 GT and am making some slight switched to my current setup but really am just wondering if these switches are worth it lol. Currently I have: DC270XP Alternator XS Power D2700 up front. (2) XS Power D3100 in the trunk. Crescendo BC5500 (2)Sundown Zv3 10" JL Audio 4 Channel (Forgot the name of the Model) IA 6.5" Components (Front Doors) 6.5" JBL Coaxials (Front Kick Panels) Now to the topic at hand. All the 1/0 wiring in my car is KNU Konceptz CCA but I'm thinking of making the switch to KNU 1/0 OFC or Sky High 1/0-2/0 OFC. Would it be worth the change? Also I'm thinking about selling my Crescendo BC5500 replacing it with a Sundown 3.5k. Worth it? I have no speakers in the rear door panels and am considering adding some but once again not sure if it's worth it. Last but not least. I have my trunk deadened pretty well and was wondering if it would be worth to deaden the floors/ceiling/doors of the car? Feels good to be back in the CA world lol. jarrius Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 With the wire every one will say yes OFC over CCA. I am just wondering why do you want to get ride of you 5500 for a 3.5k. And more deadner more better lol but I could be wrong on that one lol. 2012 Chevy sonic1xSQ HDC3 12 D2RF R1200d 140 square foot of Q-Mat(soon to be installed) 140.2Db sealed on the dash with TL 142 DB sealed on the dash with another meter (was dead on with the TL at a show i was at) 141 on music. strangeduck,on 02 Jan 2014 - 01:39 AM, said: when my car spins out i just put the car in neutral, turn in the direction i want to go and pucker my asshole

Sundown POWER : 3660 Watts AMP VOLTAGE (measured) : 65.84 V AMP CURRENT (calculated) : 55.58 A ACTUAL IMPEDANCE (calculated) : 1.18 ohms SUPPLY VOLTAGE : 11.9 V Crescendo BC5500 "Wired to .4 rising to 1.01 ohms droping down to 13.0 volts drew in 720 amps of current dc put out 4890 watts." That's only about 52% efficiency. Would probably be better for my car and eleectrical because the Sudnwon is much more efficient. The deadener is a trade off, would kill road noise and make my mids and highs louder and clearer but I can lose SPL cause of this. Deaden ceiling and the rest of car. OFC 2 runs. Keep amp. Keith77 Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 This is where the Amp Dyno would be a perfect tool. Thats cool. Im way too old to be upset by shit like that. Your name is winston. Your own parents hated you even before you were born. My penis is bigger than your penis I'm far from loud and my roof/headliner flaps around like Adam's ass on a windy day. I think it depends more on the structure of the vehicle.
jarrius Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 It's much more efficient because it's less power you will lose SPL 2012 Chevy sonic1xSQ HDC3 12 D2RF R1200d 140 square foot of Q-Mat(soon to be installed) 140.2Db sealed on the dash with TL 142 DB sealed on the dash with another meter (was dead on with the TL at a show i was at) 141 on music. strangeduck,on 02 Jan 2014 - 01:39 AM, said: when my car spins out i just put the car in neutral, turn in the direction i want to go and pucker my asshole

finkster Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 Unless you are competing I would keep it the way it is but deaden the car. DAT 4125------>RE XXX comps active Eclipse cd7000 I serve drunks for a living
jarrius Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 The sundown 3.5k is more efficient and will pull less amps from your electrical because it's not trying to make as much power. The Nendo is less efficient and requires more amperage to make its power because it's putting out over 2k rms more then the sundown. Basic electrical man if you something that is making 3500w and another that is making 5500w the 3500 will be more efficient on electrical because it is requiring less amperage to make its power. Pulse the the calculations you did on the sundown are speculation you will need to test it to be sure.

Sundowns 4500 produces the same power and is still more efficient thant the BC5500. That's the point I'm trying to make that lets say I'd go with a sundown amp that is around the same rated power and the BC5500 it's more efficient than the Nendo. Also assuming those numbers are right it's the BC55 is only putting out about 1.2k more than the S3500. On another note everyone agrees it'd be worth replacing my wire with OFC?
