Kranny
you need identical gauge wires for power and ground. and the largest that will fit in the terminals. too small of wires and you'll starve the amp of power and cause it to shut off. how do you know the sub is wanting more power at X gain? gain isn't a volume knob. its supposed to be set to match the voltage of the preouts on your headunit. Mr DeeBeez
ok. i will be sure to use 4g for ground. and i dont know for sure, but the sub is rated at 1000 watts rms, and is only getting about 400 right now. TRON
Well, regardless of what power you guesstimate, get that ground fixed. Though, I would definitely save up and get some 1/0. rockFord_Expedition
A cap will not help in this circumstance. Caps do not turn bad or insufficient electrical into good, but enough capacitance can help stabilize voltage in what is already a stout electrical system. Nobody wants to spend $ to beef up their electrical but good electrical isn't cheap. Leave your gain down until you get it fixed. Mr DeeBeez
the terminal on the amp will barely fit a 4g wire. Fi Team 18's (4) Crossfire 16k Crossfire 400.4 & 800.4 Pioneer AVH-X491bhs 140ah cmax CES 320's (2)

Mr DeeBeez
this is the newest model, but mine is a little bit older than this one http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/details/p1000x1bd says 4 gauge inputs for power and ground Fi Team 18's (4) Crossfire 16k Crossfire 400.4 & 800.4 Pioneer AVH-X491bhs 140ah cmax CES 320's (2)
TRON
I guess Sonic Electronics lied then. Though, you're planning on adding a second amplifier so you could use a run of 1/0 to the back, then have a distribution block that goes to the amplifiers. Mr DeeBeez
do you think that would make a noticeable difference? and do you think this is where my problem is coming from?
