sharkshit55 Posted April 7, 2014 Report Posted April 7, 2014 So i was puting some sound deadeningon my doors today and while i was mounting the speaker back one othe wires touched the deadening. Yes i had it on lol. I was on my lunch and wanted to listen to the radio while i worked. So the amp kicked off. And i turned the radio off and came back and after work and it worked. But now i have a engine noise coming out of the speakers. I checked all my grounds and all is good. I checked my fuses . 1 was blown so i changed it. ....i read that pioneer decks are plaguedwith this problem. I have the dxt-x2669ui which is the one from walmart that comes with the 4 speakers. I got it for $70. I keep reading to ground my rca's which sounds pretty cheap. Is it time for new radio or should i do the ground Looking to buy hdc3 and sq2200 bundle. let me know

alaskanzx5 Posted April 7, 2014 Report Posted April 7, 2014 Pico fuse. great pic of how its done by the way if you do that and it doesn't work check that all your RCA wires are securely attached, wiring is all tight and snug, double check all power and ground wires 2-3 times. to prevent the pioneer pico fuse issue is easy and safe. Turn off power disconnect batter and remove fuses for any amps. Of course that should be common sense when dealing with electricity though. oh and never hot swap RCA wires. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.
Katt Posted April 7, 2014 Report Posted April 7, 2014 Had to do this to a Avic Z3 today. But yes, ground the RCA wires. Still issues, pinched RCA wire, loose connection on them, bad radio ground - would ground radio to bare metal somewhere connected to the body behind the dash. The only person i know that hasn't blown one is Ray, lol. *06 330i - Sundern x12 - saz-3500* *91 Foxbody V1 S-Trim Notch*
audiofanaticz Posted April 7, 2014 Report Posted April 7, 2014 All the people that have that problem are from people who hot swap rca's, meaning unplugging and plugging the rca's in and out when the amp is on, or grounding out speaker wires.. Either way, its not a Pioneer problem, its a User Error problem.
