corey7733
hey hey. I just got an alpine type r 10" with an alpine mrp m500 amp with it, I have another mrp m500 just waiting to be used. I was wondering if I could stack the amps and run both amps to it? one amp runs at 300 @ 4ohms, I think there mono, and the sub is Dvc 4 ohm 1000 watt rms. also what would the wiring setup look like if I did this? Rich Schenk
You trying to strap amps together? Or stack them on top of each other? corey7733
would 1 amp per coil work? if so would that change the ohm rating?
corey7733
I've been messing with subs ever since I got my hands on my first woofers but I've never tried to run 2 amps on 1 sub so I'm a little confused
corey7733
I have found a bunch of 2 ohm diagrams but none for 4 ohm
corey7733
ok from what I have read, wiring the amps to the voice coils at 2 ohms each would automatically make it 4 ohms? is this right
BoomZoom808
Each amp would see 4 ohms since that's what you say the voice coils are but I don't think those amps are strap-able. I would call Alpine and find out. 2010 Mazda 3s 2.5L Pioneer DEH-X9600BHS Knu OFC 1/0 SS Platinum AGM / XS Power XP750 Alpine PDX F-4 / Morel Maximo 5 + Coax 5 IA 10.1 / SSA XCON
