bbeljefe Posted April 16, 2014 Report Posted April 16, 2014 A while back I posted about a console box one of my customers (before he found me) paid a local and long time shop to build for his Massive Audio Toro 10D4. Well, I finally got round to the rebuild and in the interim he decided to go with more cone area so he brought me a Toro 12D2, which will obviously get him a lot more power from the D3600 he's running. Trouble is, the console HAS to be 12" wide and the sub is 12.6" wide. If you haven't seen the original thread, it's here. But to save you a trip over there, here is a pic of the original box: And here's the new one being built. It isn't finished yet but I wanted to post so stay tuned for the finished product... or don't. I'm not the boss of you. ;-) First priming... Oh yeah, I figured this box for a 4" aero port and forgot that the front was angled so I had to do some more fabbing so the port would fit full length and not hit the floor of the box... The paint will be delivered tomorrow and then we'll have to get a color match for the vinyl. Oh and, this box is going in a 1990 Chevy short wide truck that looks like it was frozen in 1990 and thawed out yesterday. I'll be sure to get pics of the truck when we install the box... it's gorgeous. I'm also doing door panels for this truck. That's a much better box than the first lol! Funny how the people who have a louder system than you will usually give you a compliment about your setup because they know how much blood, sweat, time, and money you put into it. The people who criticize or try and one up you....have a p.o.s to no system at all and will tell you all about this "other" guys system! Saddley I'm sure if I meet this "other" guy...he will probably tell me he thinks your just as annoying as I think you are! I'm not compensating, just proud of fabricating! I didn't want to run screws through the box in order to mount the arm rest pad plus, he will have the option of removing the pad while still having a clean look if he wants it.
