TRON
I started my truck with command start this morning, and I wondered if the regulator in the secondary alternator was actually on. Obviously, using command start means the key isn't in the ON position, and I did check with a DMM...and sure enough the 12v ignition that I tapped into doesn't turn on with the command start but does as soon as I put the key in and turn it to the ON position. Bad for the alternator to run without the regulator turned on? It didn't run for more than a few minuets, but should I switch to a different source? Edit: The secondary just has the single 12v turn on wire. TRON
So I'm guessing that without the regulator turned on, the alternator still will generate some kind of electricity but not enought to do any damage? MECHMAN
If the alternator does not have a turn on signal will only cause the alternator to free spin only. It will not produce any power just free spinning.. Quote 1-888-MECHMAN www.Mechman.com [email protected]
